The FAITH project 7th Workpackage led by the Ministry of Education Ethiopia forms a “community of learning” – training institute for an exchange on the experiences from the pilot projects according to the FAITH project. As a result, the MoE hosted a community of learning workshop marked a significant milestone for the FAITH Project, bringing together representatives from 15 Ethiopian Universities of Applied Sciences to advance institutional transformation through applied learning. The workshop was officially opened by honorable Dr. Berhanemeskel Tena, the Kotobe University of Education President assuring that the University is working hard to implement the FAITH project tasks together with the partner institutes and all the EUAS. He emphasized that the project is playing its own pivotal role for smooth transformation of the Universities of applied sciences. Dr. Ephrem Tekele, the FAITH project coordinator adressed the participants with his welcoming remark wishing them a productive and successful workshop. Following that, he provided insights on the 10 characterstics of Universities of Applied Sciences. Six tandem areas were presented by the FAITH project tandem experts. The experts conducted a professional explanation on the six characterstics and on the progresses made toward their acomplishment. On the second day, group discussions on the 10 characteristics led by the tandem experts were held among the Universities’ representatives.
Behailu Korma, MoE representative and FAITH project senior expert, gave a brief summary of the data input following the representatives’ group presentation. The event was inclusively running categorical discussions, participants’ questions and answers, and presenters reflections. Finaly, Mr. Behailu Korma concluded the event tasks of the workshop recommending that all stakeholders should cooperate to speed up the project implementations and ensure successful transformation.
